Charon is trying nir best to explain this as pedagogically as possible, but it can be hard to find words in the moment. Thus a couple of different metaphors are used.

When it comes to how I imagine the obtaining of these powers working, it’s somewhat inspired by personal experiences with plurality, and how new alters may struggle to use abilities that are already there in the brain. But when they do find how to do it, they sort of gain access to a whole lot of skills at once. So it’s different from learning from scratch.

For example, not being able to speak until gaining access to that part of the brain (or however this works neurologically), but then gaining access to decades of language learning all at once.
